As a unit stills photographer I embrace the challenge of distilling the tone, mood and story of a film into exciting still images.
Having trained in lighting design at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, I went on to design lighting for productions across the UK and internationally. My skills in production photography complemented my work in theatre and led to commissions, including as a unit stills photographer in TV and film.
Strong storytelling and beautiful cinematography inspire me and drive my work. I approach photography with a carefully honed eye for light’s nuances and storytelling potential.
I work both unobtrusively and collaboratively on set and relish the challenges of working on location.
Publicity commissions include work for Lionsgate, Salon Pictures and The Moment, the resulting images appearing across the media on platforms including Variety-online, Empire-online and Total Film Magazine.
I have photographed performances at The Royal Opera House, The Oslo Opera House and throughout the West End; worked as the National Youth Music Theatre’s official photographer for three years and spent a summer on tour with American band Vintage Trouble providing publicity images and culminating in an exhibition.
One of the most enjoyable elements of my vocation is working with talented actors and crew, including two time Academy Award nominated Sir John Hurt , Josh Helman, Charlie Palmer-Rothwell, Nick Moran and BAFTA award winning Chanel Cresswell as well as directors Ron Scalpello and Will Brenton.
